Jude done good

Jude is post op now and came straight back onto the ward – no visit to intensive care required this time. The plan is to go home tomorrow which will be some sort of record.

He is now the proud owner of a pacemaker type device inserted just under the skin on the left side of his chest. It feels a little weird to touch but doesn’t seem to be causing him too much discomfort. It comes with a warranty from the manufacturer but I’m a little concerned about packing Jude in a box and sending him back to the company if there was a malfunction. It would have been better to have included a zip so we could take it out first. Hey ho.

Surgery brought forward

We’ve just heard that the Childrens’ Hospital wants to do Jude’s VNS operation next Wednesday. This means we’ve got to think about it – we set it aside, put it to the back of our minds and haven’t spoken about it.
